Lessons from our First "FundMeNow" Webinar

On Wednesday, the 22nd of July, 2026, Elechi scholarships held its first webinar focused on “Navigating Scholarship Opportunities as a Nigerian Undergraduate Student”

The first Keynote speaker, Barr. Obinna Edeh emphasized the need for a diligent pursuit of scholarship opportunities as an undergraduate student. His maxim remains that:

“Undergraduate Students should pursue scholarships the way they did for JAMB and Post-UTME”

Pharm Alum Ogechi, speaking later on, used her personal experiences to highlight key steps to winning a scholarship. Starting from aptness in sourcing information, to timely applications and consistency, she explained the rigors along the journey to becoming a scholar.

A key takeaway is the fact that information is the greatest gap to accessing scholarship by Nigerian students; many do not know about the opportunities available to them and how to navigate them.

This knowledge gap is an important area we seek to provide valuable solutions to.

We are still in the process of analyzing the data from the webinar registration to fully reveal bottlenecks encountered by the students.

We will make these available soonest.
